Will new law curb black deals in real estate?

BrixResearch Moderator says: The Haryana government has recently passed a new law to control unscrupulous deals in the real estate segment. Under this law, every property broker operating in the sate will have to register details of the property sold, rented, leased or sub-letted.

- Will this bring transparency in property segment?
- Do such laws help in any way?
- Are more such laws needed in India?

‘Mall’-function: Is commercial space in malls overpriced?

Magicbricks.com Moderator says: A recent survey by Economic Times and Cushman & Wakefield revealed that 112 malls across the top eight cities have more than 8.5 lakh sq ft of vacant space. Industry experts feel it’s largely the rising mall rental values and lack of quality space that is resulting in such large chunks of unoccupied retail space.

Do you agree? Is it because of an overdose of mall culture in the Indian retail market? Or lack of creativity of mall developers?
