Magicbricks.com moderator says: At a recent seminar on affordable homes, I heard many people speak on the subject. Many speakers said that the government needs to draft policies for affordable homes. Other speakers mentioned that private developers need to take a lead there?
How do we begin on this concept? Who should take a lead here? Govt or private developers or both of them (Public-Private-Participation model). Any idea, any suggestions? Please paste your answers in the ‘comments’ section. Else, mail them to editor@magicbricks.com.

Private property developers v/s Govt agencies
Magicbricks.com moderator says: Our user from Chandigarh wants to pick up a flat in Rs 30-40 lakh budget. He is keen on buying a 3 bed-room house in the prime sectors. However, he is not sure if he should go for private developers or buy this flat from govt agencies (Chandigarh Housing Board).
The government agencies usually deliver average quality of construction but are considered reliable by home buyers. Private developers promise all amenities but there have been instances when only handful of these things were handed over to the users.
What should a home seeker prefer – a private builder or govt agency? What would you prefer? Send in your answers in the comments section. Else, send them to editor@magicbricks.com.
